Class: Level 1 / Class 2020 / Non-exempt / Part Time / Represented / Benefitted

Hours: Approximately 32 hours per week in August-May, approximately 25 hours per week in June-July

Anticipated Hiring Rate: $30.50/HR

THE ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The Health and Wellness Coordinator (the “Coordinator”) provides health-related and health insurance support services to students at UC Law San Francisco (UC Law SF). The Coordinator will demonstrate excellent customer- service skills, possess efficient and effective administrative support skills, and is comfortable working in a fast-paced environment both independently and as a team player. The Coordinator reports to the Dean of Students. Candidates able to work in-person or on a hybrid (in-person/remote) basis are preferred, but fully remote candidates will be considered as well.

Typical duties and responsibilities consist of, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Serves as primary contact for students to receive information and guidance about UC Law SF student health services and insurance-related matters, including services provided by third-party healthcare vendors and UC Student Health Insurance Plan (UC SHIP) coverage.
  • Works closely with and serves as a liaison to third-party healthcare vendors to ensure students have meaningful and robust primary care, urgent care, and mental health services.
  • Manages all UC SHIP-related matters, including liaising and participating in meetings with affiliated vendors and staff (e.g., UC Office of the President, benefits coordinators, insurance companies, etc.), as well as creating, maintaining, and updating UC SHIP databases for insurance waivers, referral recommendations, and other related matters.
  • Works with admitted and continuing students to ensure compliance with College-health related policies and requirements, including immunization and vaccine requirements.
  • Independently maintains the College’s internal student health services website, including developing and posting health services information, coordinating with IT, and ensuring ADA website compliance.
  • Assists College staff to maintain health services information on the College’s public-facing website.
  • Creates, maintains, and updates printed materials related to UC SHIP and the College’s health services programs.
  • Independently schedules and arranges student health events such as health fairs, vaccination clinics, and educational programs.
  • Collaborates with Admissions and the Office of Student Services on health-related programming for admitted and continuing students, including information sessions during orientation and ongoing wellness programming (animal assisted therapy, chair massages, health coaching, etc).
  • Provides administrative support for the College’s health, wellness, and other student services programs and initiatives as required.
  • Other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Completion of high school and a minimum of two years of related administrative support work experience, preferably in a medical, educational, or clinical work environment.
  • Health insurance knowledge and experience preferred.
  • College degree preferred.

DESIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Excellent administrative and office support skills; ability to move and learn quickly in a fast- paced environment and meet multiple deadlines effectively with good judgment with respect to project prioritization and time management.
  • Punctual and responsive via telephone and email.
  • Excellent verbal and writing skills, with high attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite of Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint; familiarity with social media tools; comfort with using or learning a variety of online tools such as Box, Doodle Polls, and Coursedog.
  • Proven ability to work effectively both independently and as a team player.
  • Ability to be proactive, creative, and solutions/results oriented.
